Grier was drafted by the Carolina Panthers with the 100th pick in the 3rd round of the 2019 NFL Draft. His only snaps in the NFL came that season, where he finished with 228 passing yards and 0 touchdowns to 4 interceptions. The North Carolina native also spent time with the Dallas Cowboys, Cincinnati Bengals, New England Patriots, Los Angeles Chargers, and Philadelphia Eagles.

After the Eagles won Super Bowl LIX over the Kansas City Chiefs, Grier received a Super Bowl ring despite being waived earlier in the season.

He was under contract with the Carolina Panthers for the 2026 season.
