St. Louis, MO – Former WVU Baseball star J.J. Wetherholt has been on a tear with the St. Louis Cardinals in his rookie season. The second baseman has accumulated 13 home runs on a .265 batting average, while cementing himself as a budding star in Major League Baseball. His play hasn’t gone unnoticed, resulting in him inking a major deal with the Cardinals moving forward.
According to multiple sources, Wetherholt has inked an 8-year, $112.5 million deal with the Cardinals.
Wetherholt has helped guide the Cardinals to a 49-44 record to this point of the season, placing the organization squarely in the playoff hunt.
Now that Wetherholt has been secured for the foreseeable future, fans all across the Mountain State will eagerly watch his progression as a professional player.
