West Virginia baseball has received a commitment from 2027 OF/LHP Luis Olmeda out of Spring, Texas.
The 6-foot, 170-pound Olmeda plays high school ball at Oak Ridge High School. He announced his commitment to WVU on his Instagram page Friday night.
Speed is one of Olmeda’s defining tools. He has recorded a 6.69-second 60-yard dash, showcasing his athleticism, while his outfield arm has been clocked at an impressive 97 mph.
On the mound, Olmeda’s fastball has reached 92 mph and consistently sits in the upper 80s to low 90s.
The athlete gives Steve Sabins another versatile piece to add to the lineup as part of the 2027 class.
