Sources have spoken with WV Sports Chat and have confirmed that freshman infielder Zahir Barjam will be entering the portal ending his West Virginia career before it really got started.
Last year Barjam, according to Perfect Game was the 12th best high school recruit in all of college baseball. He was one of the biggest recruits to commit to the baseball program in recent memory.
Barjam entering last year rated as the No. 1 shortstop and No. 2 overall player in South Carolina by Perfect Game.
In 33 at bats this year Barjam recorded three RBI and four doubles and had a .273 batting average.
He will have three years of eligibility remaining.
