While the West Virginia Mountaineers were preparing for the Super Regional against Cal Poly, WV Sports Chat received notification that Wright State pitching transfer Griffen Paige had committed to the Mountaineers.

WV Sports Chat reached out to Paige, who later confirmed that he was indeed committed to WVU baseball.

Paige will enter next season as a senior.

This past season the left-hander worked 76 complete innings where he recorded 77 strikeouts with just 35 free passes. Over that span of that time he only allowed 39 runs to score on 53 hits allowed. He finished with a 3-7 record and a 4.14 ERA.

In 2025 he made 11 starts and recorded a 2-3 record with an 7.55 ERA in 39.1 innings of work. He struck out 41 batters against 34 runs allowed. The Pennsylvania native tallied season-high eight strikeouts twice. First, he did it against Ole Miss on February 28, 2025 and then again against Northern Kentucky on May 9, 2025.

Those season-high strikeout numbers raised this past season in which he struck out ten batters twice. He did it against Indiana State on April 17 and the last game of the season against Milwaukee on May 22. He also struck out nine batters against Youngstown State on April 11.
