For the first time in program history, the WVU baseball team is preparing to host the NCAA Super Regionals in Morgantown. While this is a major milestone for West Virginia baseball and Mountaineer fans, the first game is not an ideal time.
Game one between West Virginia and Cal Poly is set to begin at 12:00pm Eastern time on Friday, June 5. This presents a challenge for fans who work or attend school.
WVU Vice President and Director of Athletics, Wren Baker, decided to do his part to help Mountaineer fans observe the game.
On the WVU Baseball social media accounts, Baker posted a unique letter for fans. The letter was actually written in the form of a work excuse for Friday. It even includes a line for fans to sign their name. See the full letter below.

While this letter was likely written in jest and may not actually work for most employers, it does emphasize the importance of having fans support the Mountaineers on Friday. It’s also yet another example of Wren Baker and his ability to connect with fans.
