How to watch the Morgantown Super Regional

By: James Gravley | WV Sports Chat

The West Virginia Mountaineers are hosting a Super Regional for the first time in program history and let’s face it, they were not in any position to host a regional, or that is what the committee thought anyway.

WVU was paired with the Los Angeles Regional that featured UCLA, VA Tech, Saint Mary’s and Cal Poly. UCLA fought off elimination with a walk-off win against VA Tech, but earned its second loss of the regional to Saint Mary’s. Cal Poly swept the regional and will now travel across the country to play the Mountaineers.

WVU won its first game against Binghamton but, then lost to Kentucky which forced them to win three in a row, including two against Kentucky. The Mountaineers won against Wake Forest and then took two games right from under the feet of Kentucky for the second consecutive season in walk-off fashion from Armani Guzman.

Here’s how you can watch the Super Regional:

  • Friday, June 5 at 12 noon on ESPN2
  • Saturday, June 6 at 12 on ESPN
  • Sunday, June 7 (if necessary, TBD)

Both teams have yet to release their pitching rotation for the Super Regional. Dawson Montesa threw 122 pitches plus helped lead WVU to a victory against Kentucky on Monday.

It is rumored that Chansen Cole will go game one for WVU and Carson Turnquist will go for Cal Poly, but that is not confirmed at this moment.
