West Virginia found a gem in Paul Schoenfeld out of the portal.

Just a day after making a fantastic play in center field robbing a potential home run or extra base hit, Schoenfeld follows that performance up with a career night on Friday to play a crucial factor in the 12-10 comeback win for the No. 20 ranked Mountaineers over BYU.

Schoenfeld, who entered Friday’s game with an eight game hitting streak, went five-for-five with two RBI, two runs scored with two doubles and also extended his hitting streak to nine games.

He enters Saturday’s series finale against BYU with 26 RBI which leads the club. He does have 10 stolen bases on the year which is tied Armani Guzman to lead the way for WVU and is tied for fourth in the Big 12.
