Morgantown, WV – The 2026 WVU Football transfer portal class continues to go. According to Schuyler Callihan of Sports Illustrated, the Mountaineers have added Delaware cornerback Alex Adebayo to the roster. This comes weeks after the Maryland native committed to West Virginia University via X.
Adebayo has spent the last two seasons with the Blue Hens. With only one career appearance, he ultimately accumulated no stats during his time in Newark.
Considering what WVU added to the secondary through the portal, it is safe to assume that Adebayo was brought in to serve as depth in 2026. Standing at 6-foot-1 inch and weighing 192 pounds, the redshirt sophomore has all of the intangibles to develop into a solid contributor for the Mountaineers.
