MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — West Virginia University baseball kicked off the season with a sweep of Georgia Southern and cracked the Top 25, coming in at No. 25 in the D1Baseball Rankings.
TCU is the only other Big 12 team ranked, climbing three spots to No. 7. UCLA remains No. 1 despite dropping its series finale to UC San Diego, while LSU, Texas, Mississippi State, Georgia Tech and Coastal Carolina all went 3-0 at home.
Arizona dropped out of the rankings after losing all three games in a season-opening tournament, capped by a 4-1 loss to Michigan on Sunday.
The Mountaineers aim to extend their hot start in a three-game series at Liberty, beginning Friday.
