As Mountaineer fans, we will take Backyard Brawl wins anytime we can get them. With today’s news out of the University of Pittsburgh, the Mountain State is once again celebrating a Panther loss – this time in the form of stadium capacity.
According to a press release from Pitt athletics director Allen Greene, the program will be reducing game day capacity at Acrisure Stadium to 51,416. With the closing of the upper-levels on the East and West sides of the stadium, the total number of seats available at Pitt Football games will decrease by nearly 17,000.
This is a necessary decision for Pitt Athletics since the only team that can fill their stadium is their arch rival.
Sweet Caroline…
"Our priority is to create the best student-athlete & fan experience for Pitt, & that's exactly what we're doing.”
