In a timely addition to address depth concerns at a key position, West Virginia has secured a commitment from transfer tight end Cam Ball.
Ball, a 6-foot-7, 250-pound redshirt junior from Glenn Dale, Maryland, brings Power Four experience and one remaining year of eligibility to Morgantown. He made an official visit to West Virginia earlier this month before finalizing his decision to join the Mountaineers.
Ball began his collegiate career at Buffalo, where he redshirted as a true freshman in 2022 before breaking out in 2023. As a redshirt freshman, he appeared in 10 games with six starts, hauling in eight receptions for 62 yards.
After transferring to Mississippi State ahead of the 2024 season, Ball spent two years with the Bulldogs. He played in 12 games, recording two catches ,but saw action primarily in a reserve and special teams capacity.
West Virginia has signed Mississippi State transfer TE Cam Ball, his agent Scott Nichols of @Rize_Management tells ESPN.
