WVU’s Curtis Jones Jr. to Enter NCAA Transfer Portal

By: Clark Johnson | WV Sports Chat

Morgantown, WV – Earlier this morning, the West Virginia University Football program received arguably their most shocking news of this transfer portal window. In a post on X, WVU sophomore Curtis Jones Jr. announced his intentions to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal.

Jones, a West Virginia native, made a splash during the 2025 season on both offense and defense. Utilized as a bandit, Jones 22 tackles, 2 sacks, and a forced fumble. In the latter part of the season, he also received carries as a running back, supplementing a room decimated by injuries. Used in primarily short yardage situations, Jones compiled 11 carries for 24 yards and 3 touchdowns.
