Former Memphis safety Kamari Wilson has committed to West Virginia, as reported by On3’s Pete Nakos and announced on social media.
Wilson, a 6-foot-1, 210-pound safety from Fort Pierce, Florida, has had a nomadic college career but showed flashes of his elite potential along the way. A highly touted prospect out of IMG Academy—ranked as the No. 3 safety and a top-50 overall recruit in the 2022 class by 247Sports Composite—Wilson initially signed with Florida.
At Florida (2022-2023), Wilson played as a true freshman in 2022, appearing in all 16 games with two starts. He recorded 40 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, one forced fumble, and one pass breakup, earning valuable experience in the SEC. In 2023, he saw limited action in three games before redshirting.
Seeking more playing time, Wilson transferred to Arizona State for the 2024 season, where he contributed 11 tackles in a backup role as the Sun Devils reached the College Football Playoff.
His breakout came in 2025 at Memphis, where he started and thrived in the American Athletic Conference. Wilson tallied 72 total tackles, 5.5 TFLs, 2 interceptions, 4 pass deflections, 1 fumble recovery, and 2 forced fumbles across 11 games.
