Head coach Rich Rodriguez and defensive coordinator Zac Alley have set their sights on Tyler Stolsky, a linebacker transfer from Florida Atlantic University with prior experience in the Big Ten.
Stolsky is currently on a visit to Morgantown, signaling WVU’s intent to add toughness and experience to their linebacker corps.
Stolsky’s journey in college football began at the University of Minnesota, where he spent two seasons contributing 33 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, and one sack. Hailing from Portage, Michigan, he chose the Golden Gophers over offers from programs like Air Force, Army, Central Michigan, and others. He later transferred to Florida Atlantic for the 2025 season.
At FAU, Stolsky emerged as a standout performer despite facing adversity. He led the Owls with 90 tackles, adding two tackles for loss, two passes defended, and one sack. His resilience was on full display when he suffered a hand injury mid-season but opted to play through it with a club on his hand, refusing to sit out.
During a impressive four-game stretch, Stolsky recorded at least 11 tackles each outing, peaking with 13 tackles in wins over UAB and Navy.
