Morgantown, WV – After a weekend filled with visits, Rich Rodriguez and staff are now zeroing in on transfer portal prospects. Earlier today, the program notched commitments from multiple Power Four prospects. With many offensive pieces now in place, the Mountaineers are now officially in the top-3 schools of a former All-American Athletic Conference running back.
According to JGPCFB of X, former Memphis running back Sutton Smith will choose between West Virginia, Arkansas, and NC State in the NCAA Transfer Portal. Smith, who will have one season of eligibility remaining, tallied 669 rushing yards on 102 carries and 7 rushing touchdowns. He also accumulated 109 receiving yards and 125 kickoff return yards.
There is no clear timetable for his decision at this time.
