MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – In a late night TikTok livestream, West Virginia wide receiver Cam Vaughn announced that he plans to return to the Mountaineers for the 2026 season.
There was a lot of speculation among WVU football fans whether the star receiver would return for his second year in Morgantown. After the offense struggled this past season, especially in the passing game, many fans were concerned that the Jacksonville State transfer may decide to enter the transfer portal.
The 6-foot-2 receiver has seemingly put that speculation to rest. During his live TikTok stream, a fan asked in the chat, “Can you please stay with us?” Vaughn responded, “What do you mean bro? I am staying…Mountaineer for life.”
After Vaughn put up over 800 receiving yards during his redshirt freshman season at Jacksonville State, he decided to follow Rich Rodriguez to Morgantown. The former high school quarterback was not able to achieve the same level of success his first year in a power conference, but he still showed flashes of his great play making ability. The redshirt sophomore caught 35 passes for 541 yards and four touchdowns for the Mountaineers.
With a full year in the offense and a better team around him, the Georgia native could be poised for a great season in Morgantown.
