It hasn’t been the best of fortune for the former WVU standout pitcher who has undergone two Tommy John since 2022.
John Means announced on Instagram that he tore his Achilles on the same day he was set to sign a contract for the 2026 MLB season.
Means has made a total of 10 MLB appearances since the end of the 2021 season.
Means underwent Tommy John surgery in 2022 and again in 2024.
This also comes at a bad time in which Means was expected to sign with a team today. That will no longer be the case as he will have to try and bounce back and battle onto a roster in 2027.
