West Virginia has signed Hutchinson Community College defensive lineman KJ Henson, a highly touted 2026 recruit who flipped his pledge from Minnesota.
Henson, a 6-foot-3, 289-pound force of nature originally hailing from Maryland, brings immediate impact potential to WVU’s defensive front. Ranked as the No. 15 overall junior college prospect and the No. 4 defensive lineman in the On3 JUCO Industry Rankings, Henson brings immediate playmaking ability to the Mountaineers defensive front.
The Rivals three-star standout held scholarship offers from a slew of Power Four and Group of Five programs, including Minnesota, Purdue, Kansas, Kansas State, North Texas, Jacksonville State, Troy, Louisiana Tech, Charlotte, and Western Michigan.
In 2025, Henson exploded for 38 total tackles, including 8.0 tackles for loss and a whopping 5.0 sacks and was named First Team All KJCCC honors at defensive tackle.
