ODU Transfer QB Colton Joseph Should be on the WVU Staff Radar

By: James Gravley | WV Sports Chat

Old Dominion starting quarterback Colton Joseph has entered the transfer portal and will not play in the Monarchs bowl game.

Joseph, who has two years of eligibility remaining, will be a hot commodity out of the portal. And one of those teams that should pursue is West Virginia.

Joseph threw for 4,251 yards and 32 touchdowns over 20 starts for Old Dominion. This season alone the sophomore threw for 2,624 yards with 21 touchdowns and helped lead the Monarchs to a 9-3 record with wins over in-state rival Virginia Tech.

It is also rumored that the Hokies, who have been hot on the recruiting trail at flipping recruits, will pursue Joseph out of the portal as well.

This season Joseph threw three touchdowns in four separate games and threw four touchdowns in one game.

Over his career at ODU, he rushed for 1,654 yards and 24 touchdowns on the ground.

If West Virginia is going to recruit for Joseph’s services next season, they will need to recruit against other power four programs.
