Popular Recruit Still Optimistic About the Future of WVU Football

By: Justin “Couz” Walker

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – WVU football suffered a lopsided 49-0 loss to Texas Tech on Saturday in Morgantown. One concern fans have is that losses like this may hurt recruiting. They worry that it may cause potential recruits to turn down the Mountaineers or maybe sign with a different school.

One particular recruit took to social media after the game to share his feelings, and fans should be encouraged by his words.

Three-star offensive line recruit Camden Goforth, who has endured himself to WVU fans with his social media posts since committing, had the following to say on X (formerly Twitter) after the season ending loss to the Red Raiders.

I don’t think people realize what’s coming. I’ve seen the quality of athletes being recruited, I’ve talked to the guys that are coming in early. Here’s the common link between all of us, we’re HUNGRY. These guys are WANTING the chance to do something great. Get ready WVU fans, something special is in the works. I’m humbled just to get the opportunity to be a part of this!
