As the West Virginia Mountaineers (4-7) limp toward the finish line of a disappointing 2025 campaign, their beleaguered backfield has suffered yet another crushing blow.
Freshman running back Diore Hubbard, who emerged as a key contributor amid a season-long injury plague, has been ruled out for the regular-season finale against Texas Tech.
Hubbard’s absence caps a nightmare year for WVU’s ground attack, which has been decimated by injuries since fall camp.
In eight appearances this season, Hubbard has been a bright spot in an otherwise dim rushing corps, carrying the ball 96 times for 335 yards and punching in four touchdowns.
