Following the commitment of four-star offensive lineman Kevin Brown, West Virginia head coach Rich Rodriguez voiced excitment about the program going into next season.
Appearing on The Pat McAfee Show Tuesday afternoon, Rodriguez delivered a message that was music to the ears of Mountaineer fans everywhere.
“We knew we were going to have some road bumps,” Rodriguez said. “We didn’t expect to be playing four quarterbacks and five tailbacks. But we also knew we had to set the culture the first year. No matter what happens our culture, our hard edge, our work ethic, out toughness, all those kind of stuff has to be set this year. And it’s painful sometimes in the process of doing that.”
Despite a frustrating first season back in Morgantown, Rodriguez believes the program will make great strides in year two.
“This time next year we expect to be talking about the playoffs and winning championships and stuff.”
