WVU Football Gains Momentum in Flipping Top Offensive Tackle Prospect Kevin Brown

West Virginia’s football program is making waves in the 2026 recruiting cycle, with growing optimism surrounding their pursuit of four-star offensive tackle Kevin Brown.

The Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, native, currently committed to regional rival Penn State, has been teasing a potential flip to the Mountaineers.

Last weekend, Brown turned heads during a high school game against Penn State by sporting gloves emblazoned with the iconic Flying WV logo. The bold statement was no accident, and it was followed by an Instagram post featuring the same gloves alongside a Bible verse—interpreted by many as a cryptic hint about his college future.

Brown, ranked as the No. 2 overall player in Pennsylvania and the No. 6 offensive tackle in the nation according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, brings more than just talent to the table. As the son of former Mountaineer and NFL standout Tim Brown, Kevin carries a legacy connection to WVU.

The younger Brown’s recruitment took a dramatic turn earlier this season when he re-opened his commitment following Penn State’s firing of head coach James Franklin. Since then, the 6-foot-5, 270-pound prospect has been a hot commodity, drawing interest from powerhouse programs like Ohio State and WVU. His recent visits to both schools have fueled speculation, but it’s his actions on and off the field that have WVU fans buzzing
