More Key Players to Miss Time for WVU Football & Update on Scotty Fox

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – In his weekly radio show at Kegler’s, WVU football coach Rich Rodriguez gave fans an update on the team’s injury situation as they prepare to play at Houston later this week.

The worst news may have been a new injury that occurred on the defensive side of the ball during the TCU game. Rodriguez announced that safety Jordan Walker would be out for the remainder of the season with a broken arm. The senior from Lafayette, AL transferred into WVU after spending four seasons with Chattanooga.

Walker had really started to come on in the past two weeks. He was one of the few bright spots in the loss to UCF on October 18. He recorded seven total tackles and an interception in the contest.

He played in seven of eight games for the Mountaineers and logged a total of 100 snaps in Zac Alley’s defense.

Another addition to the injury list is offensive lineman, Malik Agbo. The 6-foot-4 tackle started his first game for WVU last Saturday against TCU. Per Coach Rodriguez, Agbo is doubtful for this Saturday’s game against Houston. The redshirt junior suffered a high-ankle sprain against the Horned Frogs on Saturday. The Texas transfer has appeared in six games so far this season for West Virginia and has logged 178 snaps.

Rodriguez also gave updates on the injured quarterbacks. Jaylen Henderson (likely out for a couple more weeks); quarterback Khalil Wilkins (doubtful, but may dress); quarterback Max Brown (probable).

When asked about Scotty Fox finishing last week’s TCU game with a knee brace, Rodriguez said the freshman quarterback will be fine and that it was just a bruise.
