As West Virginia prepares to face the TCU Horned Frogs this Saturday the team is grappling with yet another injury setback.
Redshirt freshman quarterback Khalil Wilkins, who has emerged as a key figure in the Mountaineers’ offense this season, is listed as questionable for the upcoming game following a hit sustained during last week’s loss to UCF.
Head coach Rich Rodriguez provided an update during his Monday night radio show, confirming the severity of the hit but withholding specific details about the nature of the injury.
“All of a sudden, Khalil Wilkins is questionable at quarterback because he got hurt in that game,” Rodriguez said.
Wilkins, who leads the team with 243 rushing yards this season, has been a dual-threat presence for WVU.
West Virginia and TCU will kickoff this Saturday at 6 p.m. ET on ESPN+.
