Over/Under Kansas Edition: Nicco Marchiol Rushing Yards, Tye Edwards Touchdowns, WVU Defensive Turnovers, Grayson Barnes Receiving Yards

By: James Gravley | WV Sports Chat

West Virginia historically owns Kansas on the football field with an impressive 11-2 record all-time against the Jayhawks.

On Saturday, WVU walks into Lawrence as double-digit underdogs after coming off an 31-24 overtime win against Pitt in the Backyard Brawl.

With that, let’s have some with my random over/under for WVU versus KU.

Nicco Marchiol: 67.5 rushing yards?

For me, I am setting this on the under side. I believe Nicco runs the ball, but I also feel like we will see more quarterback play from the others on Saturday as well. For that, I’m setting this at 55.5 rushing yards for Nicco.

Tye Edwards has over 2.5 touchdowns?

I’m going over on this. I believe he rushes for two touchdowns on over 100-yards on the ground and then finds the end zone on the receiving side inside the red zone.

WVU defense with 1.5 turnovers?

I’m also taking the over on this. With Jimmori Robinson now playing, I think he makes some critical plays against Kansas that forces Jalon Daniels into some mistakes. I am predicting one interception and one fumble recovery from WVU’s defense against the Jayhawks.

Grayson Barnes has 70 yards receiving?

I’m taking the over here. Granted he hasn’t had a game yet over 60 yards receiving, I think WVU found a gem in Grayson Barnes when it comes to receiving. He had 58 yards last week and hauled in a touchdown pass as well. I’m locking it in that Barnes surpasses 70 yards with 75 on the day.
