MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Each week, the Big 12 Conference recognizes the league’s top performers. Included in those weekly honors are the top offensive and defensive lines of the week. For week three, the defensive line of the week went to WVU football.

Zac Alley’s unit held the Pitt Panthers to just 46 yards rushing in WVU’s Backyard Brawl victory. The line finished with a season-high six sacks and tied its season high with eight tackles for loss. WVU has now held two of its three opponents to fewer than 100 yards on the ground this season.
On the season so far, the Mountaineer defense is tied for second in the country in sacks with 13. They are 19th nationally in opponent third down percentage (.261) and tied for 14th in turnovers gained (6).
