Pitt QB Eli Holstein Braces for Hostile Environment at WVU

By: Jonathan K. Martin | WV Sports Chat

As the highly anticipated Backyard Brawl approaches, Pittsburgh quarterback Eli Holstein has made it clear he is ready to face the intense environment of Morgantown, West Virginia.

In a recent press conference, Holstein discussed his expectations for the game against West Virginia University, acknowledging the notorious hostility of the Mountaineers’ home crowd.

Holstein is anticipating things getting a tad bit dicey for the Panther players, even while they’re on the sidelines.

“It’s a hectic environment,” Holstein said, describing Milan Puskar Stadium. “It’s going to be a lot of fun. They said it’s crazy. There’s going to be little kids flipping me off and I’m going to get batteries and beer thrown at me on the sidelines. All types of stuff like that.”

While it’s unlikely that Holstein will have “beer and batteries” thrown at him while on the sidelines, expect a not-so friendly welcome by the Mountaineer faithful this weekend.
