WVU Opens as 3-Point Favorites Against Ohio

By: James Gravley | WV Sports Chat

The West Virginia Mountaineers are coming off an impressive 45-3 win over Robert Morris that saw the Mountaineers only hold a 10-3 edge going into the half. A second half scoring onslaught saw WVU score 35 unanswered points.

Now the Mountaineers go on the road for the first time this season to Athens to square off with the Ohio Bobcats.

Ohio, who lost its first game of the season to Rutgers, was trailing at the half 31-17 and the Bobcats defense only held Rutgers to a total of three points in the second half that came on a late fourth quarter field goal that was the deciding factor in the Bobcats 34-31 loss.

Although WVU is a three-point favorite, they will need to slow down Ohio’s quarterback Parker Navarro.

The over/under for WVU-Ohio has been set at 58.5.

Against Rutgers he threw 31 passes, completing 21 for 239 yards on three touchdowns with no interceptions. He also led the way for the Bobcats on the ground with nine rushes for 93 yards on an average of 10.3 yards per carry and found the end zone as well rushing the ball.
