Prediction: Cam Vaughn Has Career Best Game Against Ohio

By: James Gravley | WV Sports Chat

I know, I know — my prediction of Jahiem White eclipsing the 200-yard mark was well off, but hey, give me some grace as I did say West Virginia would defeat Robert Morris by 40-plus, and they did, 45-3.

So, here it is again. My weekly game-by-game predictions for certain WVU football players. This well I’m predicting Cam Vaughn to have a big game receiving the ball for the Mountaineers against Ohio.

Cam Vaughn in his career, prior to Saturday’s contest against RMU had only ever recorded two seven reception games. The first being against Kennesaw State and the second being against Louisiana Tech. He did so again this past Saturday.

However, I do believe again Ohio he will record more than seven receptions and have more than his career-high receiving yards (130, vs LA Tech).

On Saturday, Vaughn will haul in 11 receptions for 194 yards and three touchdowns to cap off a 31-16 victory for WVU.

Although Rich Rodriguez had already left Jacksonville State to become the head coach of WVU, Vaughn stayed back and played in the team’s bowl game which was against none other than Ohio. The Bobcats won that game as well by the score of 30-27 which the spread for the WVU-Ohio game is at three points.

In the losing effort for Jax State in Staff DNA Cure Bowl, Vaughn hauled in nine receptions for 183 yards and one touchdown.

And with the defensive turnover for the Bobcats this season fully expect Vaughn and the other receiving core to have a good game against the Bobcats secondary.
