Garrett Greene Back With Bucs, Beanie Bishop Back With Steelers

By: James Gravley | WV Sports Chat

A pair of former WVU standouts didn’t make their respective teams 53-man rosters, but both have found themselves back with the teams who cut them on the practice squad.

Garrett Green goes back to Tampa Bay while Beanie Bishop goes back to Pittsburgh.

While both are now back with their respective teams it is important to note both can be signed off of the practice squad by other NFL teams as well.

Bishop didn’t have a stellar preseason and didn’t make the 53-man roster due to the depth at the defensive back position. If he were to develop more defensively at the pro level or even garnish more special teams assets he could potentially make the Steelers, or any teams 53-man roster next season.

As for Greene, he had some key moments this preseason for the Bucs, hauling in eight receptions for 65 yards and added a toe tapping touchdown. Greene, unlike Bishop, has shown he not only can play receiver, but can also be a key component on special teams as he returned two punts for 31 yards and a kickoff for 21 yards.
