West Virginia OL Stepping Away From Program To Focus On Health Matter

By: Jonathan K. Martin | WV Sports Chat

West Virginia redshirt sophomore offensive lineman Ayden Bussell has decided to step away from the Mountaineers’ football program to address a private health matter.

The news was first reported by WVSports.com.

Bussell, 6-foot-5, 320-pounds, transferred to West Virginia in May after spending the previous two seasons with the University of Tennessee.

He appeared in just three games for the Volunteers during the 2024 season, logging 62 snaps. He was expected to be in the mix for a starting role for the Mountaineers this season, who are doing a complete overhaul of the offense line.
