Best Virginia secured a historic 74-61 victory over Shell Shock on Monday night in Charleston (W.Va.), advancing to the semifinals of The Basketball Tournament (TBT) for the first time in team history.
With any win, the TBT bracket gets updated for the team advancing, placing the team’s badge with the name and logo, one step closer to the championship game.
The man with the honor of advancing Best Virginia to the semifinals? New West Virginia head men’s basketball coach, Ross Hodge.
Hodge, along with his Mountaineer squad, made the trip from Morgantown to Charleston to support Best Virginia and WVU alumni. Hodge has not only taken on the task of rebuilding the team but has also immersed himself in the WVU culture, earning the respect and admiration of fans and alumni alike.
Best Virginia will face Eberlein Drive on Thursday in Charleston at 6 p.m. The game will air on FS1.
