Maxx Yehl, who is projected to be a top guy in the Mountaineers rotation next season if he can remain healthy, posted on his Instagram that he would return to WVU.
On the post, Yehl states “unfinished business” and a caption reading “time to work”.

However, with the transfers coming for the pitching staff, Yehl will likely be a bullpen guy for Steve Sabins and his staff next season.
Like Jack Kartsonas though, if he pitches well throughout the season Yehl could potentially be a key piece to the WVU rotation.
Yehl missed the entire 2025 campaign due to Tommy John. He was 2-0 with a 3.99 ERA in 2024.
