West Virginia graduate JJ Quinerly has found her footing of late, surging as a force for the Dallas Wings since being inserted into the starting lineup in late June.
Her breakout began on June 28, when she earned her first career start against the Washington Mystics. In that game, she delivered 15 points, four rebounds and four assists in 33 minutes of action.
On July 3, Quinerly quickly turned heads with a 17 point performance in a 98-89 win over the Phoenix Mercury. In that game she also recorded career-highs with seven assists and five rebounds.
Just four days later, she scored a career-high 18 points in another game against the Mercury, demonstrating her ability to consistently impact both ends of the court.
A post from the Dallas Wings social media account highlights Quinerly’s success, acknowledging her as one of the WNBA’s top rookies for the month of July.
Quinerly is one of the top three rookies in scoring and assists, averaging 16 points per game and 5.3 assists per game.
Quinerly, who had a successful career at West Virginia, was a two-time All-Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year. She scored over 2,000 career points while leading the Mountaineers to three straight NCAA Tournament appearances. She was selected 27th overall in the third round of the 2025 WNBA Draft.
