Pat McAfee, the former NFL punter turned sports media icon, brought his signature West Virginia Mountaineers spirit to the 2025 T-Mobile Home Run Derby on Monday night, donning a WVU hat while doing introductions for the MLB Home Run Derby from Truist Park in Atlanta.
Since joining ESPN’s College GameDay in 2022 and hosting The Pat McAfee Show, McAfee has consistently plugged the Mountaineers.
McAfee’s habit of repping WVU isn’t new. Whether he’s analyzing college football, hosting his podcast, or making guest appearances in WWE—where he’s a color commentator for Raw—the Mountaineers’ colors often find a way into his wardrobe.
Most recently, McAfee hosted The Pat McAfee Show live from the WVU Coliseum in Morgantown during the press conference introducing Rich Rodriguez as the Mountaineers’ 36th head football coach.
