Ryan Maggy has been on a mission this summer in the Appalachian League as he’s hit a home run in as many games in the previous week.
Maggy, who was batting third on Friday night for Tri-State, grounded out in his first at-bat, but then was drilled in the hand his next plate appearance.
Maggy was seen holding his hand and grimacing in pain. He was evaluated, but remained in the game.
“I’m feeling pretty well, but I should be good to go as soon as possible,” Maggy said.
Maggy was later pulled from the game and is expected to be back in the lineup for the Coal Cats soon, but no official word on when that will be.
The Coal Cats lost to the Pulaski River Turtles, 15-14.
