The West Virginia baseball program is riding the wave of recruiting momentum, and the latest splash comes from Division III McMurray University catcher Michael Smosna.
Smosna took to X/Twitter to share the news of his commitment, making a significant coup for head coach Steve Sabins and his staff.
“Excited to announce my commitment to West Virginia University. Thank you to everybody who has gotten me to this point. Thank you to Coach Sabins and staff for the opportunity. Go Mountaineers! @WVUBaseball”
Smosna batted .439 with eight homeruns and seven triples last season, earning himself 2025 SCAC Player of the Year honors.
