WVU Football adds Mississippi State OL Carson Lee From Transfer Portal

by: Brandon Walker

On Wednesday morning, WVU football landed a commitment from Mississippi State graduate interior offensive lineman Carson Lee from the transfer portal. The commitment was reported by Chris Hummer of 247Sports, and confirmed on Lee’s X (formerly twitter) account.

Lee was a three-star recruit in the 2020 recruiting class from Greenwood Village, Colorado. He started his career instate playing for Colorado, but played in just five games across two seasons. He then transferred to Eastern Michigan and sat out the 2022 season. Lee had committed to Mississippi State in December before returning to the transfer portal in the Spring window.

The 6 feet 2 inch 307 pound lineman started in six games at center in 2023 and 10 games last season at guard and center. He has logged 1,124 snaps across his college career.

Lee is the fourth offensive lineman to join the Mountaineers during the transfer portal window, joining North Alabama tackle Micheal Clay, Texas lineman Malik Agbo, and Oklahoma interior lineman Jos Aisosa.

WVU now has 20 scholarship players who can play along the offensive line, and Lee will have an opportunity to play right away as a sixth-year senior in his final year of eligibility.
