Hamilton (6 feet 0 inches, 190 pounds) is a former NC in-state four-star recruit. He was an early enrollee in the 2023 recruiting class and recorded 10 catches for 159 yards and a touchdown over his two seasons at UNC.
He visited Morgantown April 18-19 after entering the transfer portal on April 16. Hamilton has three years of eligibility remaining.
Hamilton recorded 133 receptions for 2,505 receiving yards and 27 touchdowns during his time at Hickory Ridge High School.
West Virginia has 13 wide receivers on its roster, including three true freshmen. There is an avenue for Hamilton to earn playing time immediately, while potentially contributing in future seasons at WVU.
Hamilton joins Jacksonville State wide receiver Cam Vaughn, Eastern Michigan transfer Oran Singleton, Idaho State transfer Jeff Varner, and Youngstown State transfer Cyrus Trough in the wide receiver room from the transfer portal.
