2026 Florida Receiver Withdraws Commitment From WVU Football

By: Brandon Walker

WVU football coach Rich Rodriguez likely thought he found a perfect fit in his offense when Jeffar Jean-Noel committed to the program in February. However, the player had a change of heart and has now withdrawn his commitment to West Virginia.

Jean-Noel made this statement on X:

“After prayer and talks with my family, I’ve decided to de-commit from West Virginia University and reopen my recruitment. This wasn’t easy. I’m grateful for the love and support from the coaching staff. Much respect to the program.”

Jean-Noel was offered by then-inside wide receivers coach, Blaine Stewart, during a home visit on Jan. 23. He announced his commitment on Feb. 1. Stewart has since taken a job with the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The 5-foot-10, 160-pound speedster is rated as a three-star prospect out of American Heritage High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He is the No. 81 ranked player in Florida, according to 247Sports.

Jean-Noel has offers from Miami, Michigan, Pitt, Washington, and Wisconsin, among Power Four schools. In his junior season, he caught 34 passes for 505 yards and five touchdowns.

The staff here at Couz’s Corner will continue to provide updates on recruiting as information is provided.
