WVU Football Lands Talented Legacy Quarterback

It’s Saturday and the Spring Showcase is about to start in a few hours. As Mountaineer fans are getting ready for the event, 2026 3-star (borderline 4-star) QB, Jyron Hughley has committed to WVU football. He chose Morgantown over 21 other universities, including Penn State, Miami, FSU, Pitt, and Virginia Tech. The West Palm Beach native is also the nephew of former WVU player and coach, Ja’Juan Seider, who’s now the running backs coach at Notre Dame.

The Cardinal Newman High School product threw for over 1,300 yards and 15 touchdowns during his junior season and led his team to the Class 1A State Championship game. The 6 foot 2 inch quarterback also ran the ball 87 times for 835 yards and another ten touchdowns.

This is a massive get for Rich Rod and the staff, as they’re preparing for summer camps to start. Hughley is a dual threat quarterback, that can absolutely zip the ball into tight windows and can do as much damage with his legs.
